As Founder and CEO of Wink, he is leading the company’s mission to connect identity with commerce, eliminating fraud, simplifying checkout, and transforming payments with biometric intelligence.

A three-time founder with successful exits, Deepak pioneered mobile payments at DeviceFidelity (acquired by Square), launched Moneto, one of the first prepaid mobile wallet apps in the U.S. (sold to Cachet), and built Swych into an award-winning global gifting and payments platform (acquired by Finablr). He later served as Global Head of Payments at Finablr, a $2B public company, scaling international payments and partnerships.

With more than 50 patents and decades of experience driving innovation at the intersection of payments and identity, Deepak is recognized as a leader who turns breakthrough ideas into trusted, scalable solutions. Matthew Mudd

President & Chief Operating Officer

Matthew Mudd is a payments industry veteran with a track record of turning complex infrastructure into simple, secure, and scalable solutions. As President and COO of Wink, he leads corporate and technical operations, bringing decades of expertise in payments innovation, fraud prevention, and global infrastructure to the company’s mission of connecting identity with commerce.

Before Wink, Matt was CEO of Phoenix Managed Networks, where he grew the company into a trusted provider of secure payment solutions worldwide. Previously, he spent nearly two decades at Transaction Network Services (TNS), advancing through leadership roles in operations, engineering, and product development. He has also served as CIO of PaylinX (acquired by CyberSource) and Director of Long-Haul Fiber Networking at Cogent Communications.

John McDonnell

Chief Strategy Officer & Chairman

John McDonnell is a fintech leader with more than 25 years of experience driving global expansion for companies at every stage from start-ups to public enterprises. As Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of the Board at Wink, John shapes the company’s long-term vision and growth strategy, guiding its mission to connect identity with commerce and transform how businesses and consumers interact.

Before Wink, John served as Chairman of Phoenix Managed Networks and was instrumental in its strategic merger with Wink. His career spans leadership roles at some of the most influential companies in payments and fintech, including Visa, CyberSource, Bitnet, Uphold, and Transaction Network Services (TNS), where he led corporate strategy, business development, and regulatory affairs across global markets.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in International Relations from Stanford University and a Juris Doctorate from UCLA. His track record of scaling fintech businesses worldwide positions him as a key driver of Wink’s growth and innovation in identity and payments.

Beth Crawford

Chief Financial Officer

Beth Crawford is responsible for the financial health of the company. Beth oversees Phoenix Managed Networks' accounting and financial reporting and works closely with the Board of Directors, where she serves as Treasurer and Secretary. Before joining Phoenix Managed Networks in 2017, Beth held a range of senior financial positions in a wide variety of environments, including international non-governmental organizations, national consulting firms, and both publicly and privately held entities, including Transaction Network Services. Beth has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Strayer University-Maryland and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Virginia and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

James Anderson

Board Member

James Anderson is an advisor to startups and scale-ups in the payments and digital identity space, bringing decades of experience driving innovation at the intersection of technology and finance.
He spent 14 years at Mastercard, where he led key initiatives across digital consumer and commercial payments. As the architect behind the Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES), James helped establish the foundation for secure tokenized payments globally. Later, he served as Executive Vice President of Commercial Payments, where he conceived and launched the Mastercard Track Business Payment Service. During his tenure at Mastercard, James was a member of the Management Committee, recognized for his ability to turn bold ideas into scalable, real-world solutions that shape the future of payments and identity.
Most recently, James served as Managing Director of Paze at Early Warning Services, as a key figure leading the launch of a new wallet platform aimed at improving both consumer experience and merchant outcomes.

John Hooker

Board Member

John Hooker is a seasoned investor and capital markets expert with over 30 years of global experience guiding high-growth fintech and financial services companies. As CEO of Pristine Investment Group and a former VP in capital markets, he brings strategic insight into scaling, risk mitigation, and sustainable investment—key to Wink’s mission of transforming payments through biometric innovation. Known for leading multiple “first-ever” initiatives at companies like Marriott and American Capital, Hooker combines financial innovation with a track record of raising over $22 billion and building high-performing teams that deliver uncommon results.
